What is music publishing?
Music publishing is the business of managing the rights to songs, as well as collecting and distributing royalties for songwriters and composers. Publishers also promote songs to popular artists and license music for use in visual media (sync licensing).

Do I need a music publisher?

Yes, SongHub offers music publishing registration and administration services for a one-time fee of $99.99 to its Premium tier members. As a SongHub Music Publishing (Pro tier) member, your songs will be registered with your PRO, The MLC and SoundExchange, and you'll collect global music royalties from the use of your music. In addition, your songs will be reviewed for sync licensing (use in film, television, advertising, video games, etc.). SongHub Music Publishing is launching in Q2 2025.
